Wyclef Jean was shot in the hand in Haiti. Jean was in the car with Busta Rhymes, Jimmy Rosemond and other members of his entourage, no one else was hurt.
The rapper is reportedly in good condition and being treated at a local hospital.
Former band mate Pras who is also in Haiti tweeted:
Everyone can relax Wyclef is fine… They can’t stop us not one bullet or a machine gun!!!!!!! Yes they shot Wyclef and he’s in the hospital and he’ll be fine. They just shot his hand ..
The shooting comes on the eve of presidential elections in Haiti. Jean is supporting fellow musician Michel Martelly.
Lindsay Lohan will be heading to London next week to host a Brits celebration party in conjunction. All money from the event will be going to the Red Cross for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.
In related news Hope Help & Relief Haiti group’s ‘A Night Of Humanity’ took place last night to help raise money to send 50,000 tents to Port au Prince so that earthquake victims will have a place to live. The tents cost $1,000 each. Mary J Blige and Wyclef both performed and guests included Robert DeNiro, Whoopi Goldberg, Gayle King, Anna Wintour, Jay-Z, Russell Simmons, Lyor Cohen, Robert Kennedy Jr, Al Sharpton and Michael Stipe.

The special fundraising segment of Sunday night’s program will be released as an iTunes/Target.com download following the telecast, and all proceeds from its sale will go to the American Red Cross for earthquake recovery efforts.
Wyclef responds to accusations made against the ‘Yele Haiti’ charity he independently set up to aid the people of Haiti.
“I never and would ever take money for my personal pocket when it comes to Yele,” he stated. “So not only do I denounce all that, I’m disgusted by that.”

Wyclef appeared on CNN last night to plead for help for his hometown Haiti which was hit by a earthquake [registered 7.0 on the Richter Scale] last night.
This is the largest earthquake to hit Haiti in 100 years!

The proceeds from the song will be split between The Larry King Cardiac Foundation and an unspecified charity that was close to Michael Jackson’s heart.
