Taylor Momsen Clears Up Rihanna Quote!
by on 23/08/2010Gossip Girls’ Taylor Momsen is currently in the UK doing the promo rounds with her group The Pretty Reckless. The outspoken 17 year old was quizzed about her recent quote slating Rihanna and her fake rock n roll image on T4′s coverage of V Festival.
Taylor was quick to dismiss the alleged quote and said:
“First of all I’d like to say that…it’s a misquote. I was arguing the difference between rock vs pop and it’s a very pop world at the moment and that is there is no rock and the people who dress or have guitars in their music…[for] audiences that’s the closet thing they have to rock and we are looking to bring back a real rock band and Rihanna, I wasn’t insulting Rihanna.”

In the company’s “Family Video”, Rihanna is seen rehearsing for the ‘Pon De Replay’ video, recording ‘Kisses Don’t Lie’ , rehearsing for her DefJam Audition, working on the lyrics for ‘Shut Up and Drive’, signing her Island DefJam contract and receiving her first ipod on her 17th birthday at SRP studios.
Shontelle (who is currently enjoying massive US success with her ballad “Impossible“) also features in the show-reel.

In Taylors new interview with SPIN magazine, she once again suffers a severe attack of verbal diarrhea, this time aimed at pop starlet Rihanna,
People think pop is rock, and the lines are getting blurred. Now Rihanna’s wearing f*ckin’ leather jackets, and it’s really annoying.
Describing her look as ‘high-class hooker,’ 17 year old Taylor also spoke out on her controversial dress sense.
I dress for myself,’ she said. ’Clearly, it’s provocative, but it makes me feel good. And if the only reason it makes someone uncomfortable is because I’m 17, then that person’s a scumbag because it shouldn’t matter.’

by on 17/08/2010Rihanna features in a futuristic themed promo for the upcoming Australian leg of her “Last Girl on Earth” tour. The Optus ad gives users the chance to win tickets to the world tour by re-charging their pre-paid mobile.
The big budget promo was shot in LA and post-produced in Sydney.
The shoot saw Rihanna suspended on a series of wires with the rest of the campaign to also include print, radio and digital.

The Saturday’s were vying for their first number one single for ‘Missing You’ but it wasn’t meant to be for The Saturdays as the single entered the charts at number three.
They were beaten by Eminem, who took the number two slot with ‘Love The Way You Lie’ featuring Rihanna, while Flo Rida took the coveted number one place with ‘Club Can’t Handle Me’
Elsewhere in the charts Tinchy Stryder entered at number 10 with ‘In My System’
In the Official Albums Chart, Arcade Fire and Eminem switch places. Eminem’s ‘Recovery’ leads the way (regaining the number one spot for a third time), with Arcade Fire’s ‘The Suburbs’ (last week’s number one – the band’s first in the UK) following at number two.

Celeb pals backsage included Gossip Girls’ Blake Lively, Mr Hudson, Kanye West and Jay-Z who rushed from his show at Radio City Music Hall in conjunction with the world Basketball festival.
