Lady Gaga will be performing at the upcoming 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.
Gaga will appear live on Thursday (Aug. 18) on MTV to make a special #VMA announcement and tease her new VMA promo.
Gaga joins VMA performers Adele, Lil Wayne, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown and Young the Giant.
More performers are still to be announced.

Rumours are surfacing that Lady Gaga may play Amy Winehouse in a movie biopic. The eccentric singer is said to be considering the role of the late singer.
A British tabloid is quoted as saying
“Lady Gaga worshiped Amy and would love nothing more than to transform herself into her idol on the big screen. She’d be spot on performing Amy’s songs and has got the right look and bolshy attitude…Gaga’s management team had been discussing possible film ventures before Amy’s untimely death. But there’s only ever been one role she wants and that’s to play Amy.”

Lady Gaga has spoken about the concept for the video for her new single ‘You and I’.
“The premise of the video is that I’ve walked all the way from New York City to Nebraska to get [my boyfriend] back..I’m walking with no luggage, it’s just me and my ankles are kind of bleeding a little bit and there’s grass stuck in my shoes and I’ve got this outfit on – it’s real New York sort of clothing as it’s woolly….It’s the idea that when you’re away from somebody you love it’s torture. It’s a very powerful and awful and strange feeling when you’re away from the person you love.”
