Gaga pays tribute to the Big Apple by posing as the Statue of Liberty alongside fashion guru Marc Jacobs on the fall cover of V Magazine.
Posing with Jacobs, a shopping cart and an old TV set, Gaga stands in a black lace bra and panties with a gray dress sliding off her body while Jacobs remains serious and firm, sitting on top of the television in a traditional black-and-white suit.
Just last year, the singer appeared on the fall issue of the magazine donning Jacobs-designed pieces.
In the issue, which is on sale now, V Magazine highlights some of New York’s most profound figures, people they say:
Lady Gaga shows she is always one step ahead when it comes to keeping up with her fans after becoming the first face of Apple’s iTunes Ping feature.
Apple has updated iTunes to version 10 and Ping introduces a dose of social networking to the popular music application.
Described by Apple CEO Steve Jobs as “Facebook and Twitter meet iTunes” or a “social network for music”, it will allow iTunes aficionados to follow artists and friends.
These includes recommendations, status updates, follow buttons, as well as the ability to create a circle of friends and buy tracks or whole albums in one click.
We posted pictures previously but here is the cover of Lady Gaga dressed up as her male alter ego Jo Calderone for the cover of Vogue, Japan. The cover was shot by Gaga’s friend and regular collaborator Nick Knight.
Lady Gaga has surged past Britney Spears to take her followers beyond 5,667,000 and become the most followed person Twitter.
Gaga is also the most popular living person on Facebook, according to Famecount, which tracks social media users’ performances across the web.
She lingers behind only Michael Jackson in terms of popularity. Gaga also tops Famecount’s aggregator of performance across Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, making her the most popular person – living or dead – across the main social media sites.
There are some signs, however, that Gaga should make the most of her status while it lasts, according to Daniel Dearlove, founder of Famecount.
While she may be the most popular star, she is not the fastest growing. Canadian teen sensation, Justin Bieber, is currently racking up almost 800,000 new followers a month, and on present trends he may challenge for the Twitter throne within 6 months.”
Check out an unrecognizable Lady Gaga in these series of snaps from her college days.
The demure, aspiring singer is pictured with her natural brown locks in these carefree shots in the current edition of In Touch Weekly.
Gaga decided to lose her natural brunette look and go blonde as she didn’t want to be compared to Amy Winehouse.
Do you think the two look alike?
In related news RedOne, Gaga’s producer and long time friend revealed her third album is ‘going to be shocking, shocking, shocking’.
He said:
When you heard Bad Romance after Poker Face, it was like the best thing you’ve ever heard. We want that type of reaction. I think that’s part of my job and her job – to keep her evolving. We want to give them [the fans] something with a kick.’
The Los Angeles Times has put together a breakdown of what Lady Gaga fundamentally amounts to in numbers, ahead of her record-breaking performance at the Los Angeles Staples Center next week.
According to the statistical breakdown, the “Bad Romance” singer is undoubtedly America’s (and possibly the world’s) new Queen of Pop!
Lady Gaga’s recent confession that she uses cocaine occasionally has angered musician Boy George.
Boy George, who battled drug addiction for years, has gone public slamming Lady Gaga over her Vanity Fair interview.
Could it be that her use of coke is not so ‘occasional’?”
He asks in a blog written for Papermag.com. He added:
As a recovering addict who knows how dangerous ‘occasional’ use is, I can think of no reason for Gaga to reveal this to her young audience. Isn’t saying your an ‘occasional’ drug taker a bit like saying you’re bisexual? That usually means you’re raving! My mum had the best take on this “she’s reached the stage where she feels untouchable, you all get there — you did, son.” I can’t argue with that! One has to wonder how much of a grip Gaga has on things.”
Boy George had a well-publicized heroin addiction and also served time behind bars for assault and false imprisonment of a male escort.
In related news Gaga spoke to Ryan Seacrest today and discussed a number of things that are inspiring her lately, including the recent overturning of Prop 8 in California.
“I felt like it was a revolution, a gunshot went off. It was so exciting when it happened. For me, it was a moment that indicates it can happen in every state now. I was so happy, and I went right into the studio and I kept writing. [My album] kind of is done, but I can’t stop writing music. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I might have to put out two records.”
