Introducing… Amplify Dot!
South London-raised rapper/MC Amplify Dot is no stranger to the music game. Her first taste of music came at the tender age of 5 when her mother asked her to rap an answer machine message. At 13, she was invited on stage by none other than Missy Elliott when she called on someone from the audience to rap on stage with her. Since then, young Dotty has been perfecting her craft, releasing a number of mixtapes and has worked with the likes of Kano, Ms Dynamite and Jessie J.
Earlier this year, she appeared on the remix to Stooshe‘s debut single ‘Love Me’ alongside fellow female MC’s RoxXxan and Lioness. In June of this year, she was announced as the first female MC to sign a major record deal in over 10 years after inking a deal with Virgin/EMI Music. Her first release at her new major label home is ‘Spare Parts’ which will be a collection of songs which haven’t made it to her debut album. Due for release on December 3, the mixtape will include ‘Get Down’ produced by Show & Prove (Wretch 32, RASCALS, Dappy, Stooshe).
‘Get Down’ will be available as a free download today (November 27) from her Facebook page. A video for the track has also been shot and will be released later this week.
Her debut album is expected to be released in 2013.
