After it was announced earlier this week that Fergie would be taking a break from the Black Eyed Peas to start a family, rumours are swirling that she will be replaced with RnB singer Ashanti. There has been no words from the official reps but according to Media Takeout, an industry exec said “the group had been looking for a replacement for some time” and that Ashanti accompanied the group on tour recently as an “audition.”

Ashanti has announced her comeback to music with a hot, new promo pic. The singer looks gorgeous draped in gold and lying on a rock face. The only details that the promo gives is that she’ll be ‘Coming Soon’ – reports suggest that she is currently putting the final touches to her new album.
