Introducing… Kitchen Party!

Kitchen Party are three girls from in and around London recently signed to Island Records. So far, they’ve worked with the likes of Cameron McVey and Z Dot and their mixtape ’11th Floor’ (which you can listen to below) is their first musical offering. They decided to call themselves Kitchen Party because they do “a lot of partying in the kitchen in the London flat they share”.

The ’11th Floor’ mixtape, which has already been described by Noisey as “the best mixtape they’ve heard in ages” contains original material as well as covers of Aaliyah’s ‘One In A Million’, The Supremes‘ ‘Can’t Hurry Love’ and Brandy’s ‘I Wanna Be Down.’ Best of all, you can download the mixtape for free from their official website.

Earlier this month, Hunger TV premiered the video to ‘Facemelt’ taken from Rita Ora‘s debut album ‘ORA’.

In this special new version, once again directed by Rankin, the video also stars best friend and model Cara Delevingne. In the last few weeks it has been rumoured that Ora is helping Delevingne record her debut album. Ora is also currently working on her second studio album which is expected to be released next year.

X Factor USA judge Demi Lovato has announced details of an intimate gig in London.

The singer/songwriter will perform at the Tabernacle in Notting Hill on May 31st as part of a VEVO Presents live series, which will be available to watch online in June.

The gig is sponsored by Sony‘s Xperia smartphone range and will be premiered first through the free Xperia Lounge Android app before going live across the VEVO platform. VEVO will announce how fans can get tickets on May 27 and they can discuss the event using the Twitter hashtag #DEMIliveinLONDON.

Talking of the gig, Lovato is quoted as saying:

“I love performing in the UK, and it’s exciting that I can share such an exclusive performance in London with my fans all over the world through my own VEVO Presents event.”

Lovato released her single ‘Heart Attack’ in the UK this week and is currently at number 3 in the Official Charts midweek update. Her album ‘DEMI’ follows on May 20.

Soul man Mayer Hawthorne enlists south London’s finest Jessie Ware for ‘Her Favourite Song’ – the first single to be lifted from Hawthorne’s forthcoming fourth album ‘Where Does This Door Go’.

Co-produced by produced Oak of Pop & Oak and Hawthorne himself, the single will be released on May 21. The album will follow on July 16 via Universal Republic and features production from Pharrell, Greg Wells, Jack Splash and more.

On ‘Dirty Laundry’, Rowland speaks frankly about band member Beyoncé and being in an abusive relationship.

Co-written by The-Dream, the single will be available to download from  May 21 in the US. ‘Talk A Good Game’ will be released on June 17 in the UK and a day later in the US.

Solange has unexpectedly announced that she is to launch her own record label under Sony Music.

Earlier today, Pitchfork incorrectly reported (via Billboard) that Solange had inked a new deal with Columbia Records for her forthcoming third studio album. Clearing up the rumors herself, she tweeted Pitchfork explaining that they were wrong. She then announced that she is to launch Saint Records, which will be distributed through Sony.

According to TMZ, Danity Kane are set to reunite, with the exception of one member!

Aubrey O’Day , Shannon Bex, Dawn Richard, and Aundrea Fimbres grabbed lunch today in L.A. with a new manager to discuss the reunion. At this stage, D Woods is not expected to return. It is thought that the girls are planning a tour and a new album.

Danity Kane was formed in 2005 on Diddy’s reality show for MTV ‘Making The Band’ but in 2009, Diddy fired the entire group (with the exception of Dawn Richard). It is unclear if the group will be able to continue using the name ‘Danity Kane’ as this is thought to be owned by Diddy and Bad Boy Entertainment.

**EDIT** Further unconfirmed reports suggest that D Woods is also set to return to Danity Kane. She is rumoured to be in Atlanta on prior business but WILL return to the band!

Kendrick Lamar drops the video to fan favourite ‘Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe’ taken from his gold selling second album ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’.

In the clip, which also stars comedian Mike Epps, Lamar attends a funeral, which turns into a celebratory affair when he gets in the limo, pops champagne with his friends and heads to the hills. There’s a slight twist as to who the funeral is for…

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch has unveiled the brand new logo for his new entertainment company 21st Century Fox.

News Corporation will be divided into two independent, publicly-traded firms – one formed for the company’s entertainment interests and another for its publishing operation.

The latter unit will continue the News Corp name, with Murdoch serving as chairman and CEO of 21st Century Fox and chairman of the publishing company.

The television and film studios will continue to operate under the 20th Century Fox brand.

In a statement, Murdoch said:

“Today I am proud to unveil our new logo, which serves as a powerful symbol of the inspiration and high bar set by our company,” Murdoch said in a statement. Like our name, the logo reflects the rich creative heritage of 20th Century Fox and signals the promise of the 21st century and our restless drive toward the future.”
