Dawn Richard Announces Distribution Deal; Delays Album!

by Courtney on 15/10/2012

Former Dirty Money member Dawn Richard has announced that she has signed a distribution deal for her debut solo album.

Richard will release her album ‘Goldenheart’ internationally with Altavoz Distribution. This will allow her album to be stocked in physical format in major stores across the US (including Best Buy and Target) and the world. As a result of this, Richard also announced that she will be forced to delay the release of her album.

Originally scheduled for this week (October 16) it has now been held back until January 15, 2013. This will allow time for physical copies to be made and distributed to stores. She will also be launching an app for iOS and Android compatible devices. The app will allow fans to access news, videos, and make direct purchases.

Speaking of her new distribution deal, Richard said:

“It’s a movement we are starting here. After all our hard work, we finally are expanding our art into stores. We wanted to make GoldenHeart available to all [Hearts], not just digitally. The project is too amazing to be limited to one portal of access. It’s time to get excited. This is a big deal for us!”

‘Goldenheart’ is the first in trilogy of album. The lead single from the album is ‘86‘ which was released in September.
