Jay-Z’s ’40/40′ club will tonight see it’s grand re opening after being closed to undergo complete renovations from floor to ceiling.
Jay-Z is expected to attend the special launch event making it his first official appearance since the birth of his baby daughter Blue Ivy and rumours have been circulating that even Beyonce may pop in.
Producer Swizz Beatz, Wale, Kevin Liles, Cuba Gooding Jr, Spike Lee, Warren Buffett, New York Yankees Alex Rodriguez, New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz and the Knicks’ Baron Davis are also expected to be in attendance to offer their congratulations to Jay-Z and B and check out the Manhattan club’s new $10 million renovations.
Since Blue Ivy Carter’s birth, the windows of the 40/40, covered by wooden shades, have been lit with blue lights.
The new father told the Daily News:
“I wanted to retain the feel of a clubhouse, a relaxed place to interact with friends”
New fixtures include a new Broadway grand entrance to the club, custom illuminated bar top with a floor to ceiling Armand de Brignac (“Ace of Spades”) Champagne Tower made with over 350 opulent and entirely handmade gold bottles. The club also features leather upholstered wall paneling, custom walnut mirrors, enlarged marble stepped arena-style seating with plush lounge areas, giant state-of-the-art LED television displays, a new second floor ‘catwalk’ and specialty viewing lounges with private bottle service and large screen HD televisions .
The V.I.P. / Private Rental areas have also been reinvented as well.
Sounds like some grand opening!
