Mutya Buena Wins Legal Rights To ‘Sugababes’ Name!

by Archna on 24/08/2011

Mutya Buena has reportedly won her two-year legal battle with her former group, which means that she is now the sole owner of the Sugababes name.

Buena, who left the Sugababes in December 2005, announced through her personal Facebook page that she had won the rights to the official Sugababes name this morning. The change is also on trade-marking website TMview, which lists Mutya Buena as the owner of SUGABABES name for merchandising rights.

Buena set her Facebook status this morning to read: “I won the official name of the Sugababes now!!! I deserve this! I’m over the moon! :D xxx”

Heidi Range, Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen will  now potentially have to tour and record under a new name.
