Adele ’21′
“What the f*ck am I going to write about now? Hotels?” That’s the question Adele asked herself not long after her debut album, ’19′, was completed. But it turned out that she had more than enough to write about after parting ways with her ex-boyfriend. As a result ’21′ takes you on an incredibly introspective and emotional journey. It’s proper pour your heart out stuff and after just one listen it’ll leave you feeling equally reflective. You’ll think of past relationships – the guy or girl who broke your heart – and while it might have you fumbling for the Kleenex, ultimately it’ll leave you with a smile spread across your face because it really is that beautiful (just don’t listen to it before a big night out, unless of course you want to prep yourself for some serious beef with an ex).
On ‘Don’t You Remember’ she sings:
“When was the last time you thought of me or have you completely erased me from your memory, I often think about where I went wrong, the more I do, the less I know, but I know I have a fickle heart…”
And on the powerful ‘Set Fire To The Rain’:
“There’s a side to you that I never knew, never knew all the things you say, they were never true, never true and the games you play you would always win, always win.”
With producers Paul Epworth, Rick Rubin and Ryan Tedder behind it, every track is pretty much a stunner. But it’s ‘Someone Like You’, her second single, that really showcases her incredible talent. With just a piano as backing there are no layers to pull back or hidden meanings to uncover and its simplicity will leave you feeling the full effects of her beautiful make-your-hair-stand-on-end vocals.
It’s an early shout, but it could very well be the album of 2011.
Our three favourite tracks: ‘Set Fire To The Rain’, ‘Someone Like You’ and ‘Turning Tables’.

I think she could come away with one. I heard some other possible nominees over at Myspoonful.com, Adam.
Cannot wait for 21! Adele is a great artist and deserves all of the recognition she can get. I’m a fan from New York City and I would LOVE to see her perform live. I’m currently trying to get tickets to the private Adele concert on 2/11 via iheartradio (http://www.iheartradio.com/contests/).
Go Adele! Hope this album is heard by many.
