According to reports, Jennifer Lopez has been dropped from her long-time record label Sony. After her last two singles “Louboutins” & “Fresh out the Oven” failed to make an impact on the US charts, as well as a delayed & unfinished 7th album, entitled “Love?”, it appears Ms. Lopez has been pushed out of her deal.
Her manager, Benny Medina released the following statement earlier today:
“Jennifer had a wonderful relationship with the Sony Music group, and they have shared many successes together, but the time was right to make a change that best serves the direction her career as an actress and recording artist. She is grateful and appreciative to everyone at Sony for all that they accomplished together.”
After further claims the split was “a mutual one”, reports are rife that Jennifer is set to sign with rival label, Island Def Jam. Meanwhile J-Lo is due to host the flagship show SNL this weekend; with no music or eminent movie to promote, this maybe a strange choice for the show producers…
